In the context of supply chains, Discrete Event Simulation is a modelling process that identifies how specified supply chain configurations will behave under different operating conditions and circumstances. Discrete event simulation codifies the behaviour of a complex supply chain as an ordered sequence of defined events, and renders a long-term view of how a supply chain will perform when different potential disruptions and risks are applied to it
