Partner Impact Notifications are a service offered by Resilinc to notify partners about global events and solicit real time confirmations from suppliers regarding the impact status of a notified event. The feature can save risk teams or event management teams a significant amount of time required to coordinate with the suppliers during contingency situation and instead spend more time on mitigation processes.
Supplier responses are captured & updated in the platform real time for the user’s consumption. Below are the options for supplier to provide the response:
All Sites Not Impacted: If none of the supplier’s sites are impacted, the supplier is recommended to select the “All Sites Not Impacted” option.
All Sites Impacted: If all sites are impacted, the supplier should click on the “All Sites Impacted” button and log in to the Resilinc portal to record their impact response.
Customize Your Response: If only some sites are impacted while others are not, the supplier should choose the “Customize Your Response” button. They will then log in to the Resilinc portal to specify which sites are impacted and which are not, allowing for a more granular response per site.
Required Time(Assess): If the supplier is not fully aware of the disruption's impact and needs time to evaluate, they should select the "Required Time (Assess)" option. This will notify the customer that the supplier needs additional time to assess the situation before providing a final impact status.
Suppliers can respond to Impact Notifications using:
- EventWatch Email
- Resilinc Partner Portal
- EventWatch Mobile App
Resilinc recommends tracking supplier responses closely and defining a response process to encourage supplier engagement with the notifications
Best practices include:
- Pre-communication & setting expectations:
- Before the activation of impact notification, the notification process should communicated internally to ensure supplier facing team members are aware. The communication can be made over a virtual meeting or by sending details via email.
- Suppliers should also be notified ahead of time regarding new initiatives or programs that require participation from them. Below is the sample email communication that can be used, and also be sure to ask Resilinc for a “Supplier Welcome Kit / User Guide” to attach to this communication.
- Regular Supplier Training Sessions:
Resilinc has a dedicated Supplier Success Team (SST) which works on enabling the suppliers to use the Resilinc platform. SST conducts multiple training sessions with suppliers each month to train them on responding to Impact Notifications as well as assessments. Customers can ask the Resilinc team for the monthly training schedule and share it with the suppliers to encourage engagement.
- Selecting suppliers and defining processes:
Customers can choose to perform a dry run with subset of suppliers before activating impact notifications for 100% of the suppliers. Selecting a subset of suppliers and prioritizing them based on categories and important factors associated with suppliers such as annual spend, revenue impact, dependencies, etc. is possible. This can help the SCRM team to get feedback from suppliers, test the initial response rate & define a process.
- Recommended actions for the Risk / Event Management Team
- Add “Response Rate” as a critical supplier KPI - Category Managers or Commodity Managers (CM) work closely with the supplier to improve the frequency of supplier responses. CM’s can track supplier responses, help suppliers increase the responses, and discuss response data during their 1:1s or QBRs with the suppliers.
- EventWatch Response KPI Dashboard: Resilinc keeps track of supplier responses through a dedicated dashboard which can allow CMs to track, analyze & prepare reports on supplier response.
