EventWatch Analytics is an analytical feature on the Resilinc portal that encompasses details of all the occurring events over a period. It gives users improved flexibility to filter information down to only the relevant information for proactive risk assessment.
EventWatch Analytics not only describes global disruptive events that took place in an organization but also compares this data with other historical events, thereby permitting users to plan and assess strategically.
Global Filters
The Global Filters section allows users to filter data on a role-specific basis. The data consumed by a manager can be different from a Product Procurement Officer or an Executive. For instance, as a Category Manager, one may want to view information for only the categories they are responsible for. On the other hand, a Product Procurement Officer would be curious to track the impact of specific products and their supply line. Different users, depending on their roles or responsibilities, can filter all the data available in the dashboard basis various attributes available on the global filter such as Partner, Business unit, Categories, Tier level, Event Type/ Severity, Duration etc.
Graphical analysis of Events – Countries with most sites and events
This graph displays the countries with the highest number of partner sites and disruptive events in each country.
To allow users to identify supply chain risk due to various global events, it is important to have the consolidated data of all events tied to your supply chain. The graph displays the level of risk and quantity of events associated with each country, as well as the number of supplier sites in each country.
Identifying which locations and suppliers/sites in those countries is crucial to developing mitigation strategies and action plans. This may include finding alternate sites, multi-sourcing parts, collecting supplier BCP, recovery times etc. The risk managers should continuously track these sites and apprise the suppliers of any gaps in their supply lines to understand the measures each supplier has taken to prevent event related risk.
Events by Time
Events by Time graph shares a month-on-month analysis of global events impacting your supply chain. To ensure accurate data users should assess, mitigate & close events real-time. The graphical representation of events allows users to track monthly progress as well as the number of events addressed each month by comparing events by its status.
Events by Type
Another recommended action is to identify the top disruptive event types and create pre-defined action plans or playbooks for risk events. Risk Teams should also identify action owners for each playbook which can help users to initiate mitigation actions the next time the event occurs. This helps customers to be proactive and prepared for most frequent disruptions, as well as manage resources effectively and follow appropriate communication channels.
In the case of frequent Natural Disaster events, customer can choose collect Business Continuity Plans from the suppliers for the frequently effected sites and review the BCP to understand the gaps in the existing business continuity plans. Users can then encourage suppliers to improve areas of weakness which can help customers create a more resilient supply chain.
In addition, categorizing events by type allows customers to relay information to their respective Category Managers and suppliers which in turn allows everyone to collaborate on mitigation strategies.
Consolidated EventWatch Data
Risk teams can export consolidated data associated for various events using the data sets available in the analytics dashboard. The data can be used for internal reporting within the supply chain organization.
Search Events (Historical)
The history of events can be used to analyze past events by event types, status, supplier impact notifications and other criteria. This allows users quick access to all events using a simple search option. Event/risk managers can tailor the information based on events from Human Health, Hurricanes or Geopolitical uncertainties.
Events affecting suppliers
Users can categorize suppliers by tier level, number of impactful events, as well as the quantity of sites potentially impacted. The chart focuses on top suppliers with highest number of events for a selected duration.
One of the Best Practices to leverage EventWatch data would be to keep a tab on all events taking place each year. For example, if the customers see 5 Cyber-attack attempts in 2021 and 13 attempts in 2022, this implies that their suppliers are vulnerable to such attacks. To reduce the impact or to mitigate the identified risk in the future, the company can identify such suppliers, regions or countries which are more vulnerable to such events and initiate conversation with suppliers to understand what measures the suppliers have in place to protect them from such impacts in future. Data available in “Sites in Event Zone & Partners in Event Zone” grids can help customers prepare data driven reports to be shared with the organization.
