Why do duplicate site entries appear in the Stock Report – Site Report, and how are they handled in the WarRoom?

  • Duplicate site entries in reports such as the “Stock Report – Site Report” are expected and occur due to the way the system maintains data lineage and source traceability.
  • A single physical site can be added to the platform through multiple sources, typically:
    • Customer Provided data (uploaded directly by the customer)
    • Supplier/Partner Provided data (submitted by suppliers or partners)
  • When the same site address is received from different sources, the system stores each entry separately instead of merging them. As a result, the Site Report may display multiple rows for the same location, each associated with a different Source. This is intentional behavior and does not indicate a data issue.
  • Currently, there is no built-in option to generate a deduplicated report. If a clean dataset is required, the exported report must be manually deduplicated using tools like Excel or Google Sheets. This can be done by identifying duplicates based on fields such as supplier name and location (country, state/province, city), and then retaining the preferred record. In general, it is recommended to keep the Supplier/Partner-provided record.
  • In contrast, the WarRoom does not display duplicate sites. It applies source precedence rules to ensure a single, unified view:
    • When the same site exists from both Customer and Supplier/Partner sources
    • The Supplier/Partner-provided record takes precedence
    • Only one site entry is shown in the WarRoom
  • In summary, while reports may include duplicate entries to preserve source-level data, the WarRoom automatically presents a deduplicated and consolidated view of sites for operational use.
