- In certain scenarios, site duplication may be observed in the portal. This typically results from how the system processes CDIF uploads and manages site identifiers like DUNS numbers.
1. Due to Append Mode
- When a CDIF upload encounters data issues such as formatting inconsistencies or mismatches, it may trigger the system to shift from the standard “Delete and Load” mode to “Append” mode. In Append mode, existing records are not overwritten or removed and newly added site entry is created, leading to duplicate site entries visible in the portal.
2. Due to DUNS Modifications
- Site duplication can also occur when a DUNS number is added or removed from a site in subsequent CDIF uploads. The system uses DUNS as one of the key identifiers for deduplication. Any change in this field may lead the system to treat the site as a new record, causing a duplicate entry to be created.
- To help differentiate between similar records, the system may automatically append additional details, such as Street Address 1, to the site name.
