- Will the mapped sites associated with those entries be removed automatically?
Yes, the existing site mapping behavior depends on the type of part associated with the site:
- Supplier-provided part: The complete entry in the Part Site Map will be removed, and the part association will be lost.
- Customer-provided part: The site mapping entry will be removed; however, the part record will continue to exist in the Part Site Map without an associated mapped site.
- Will users be required to remap the parts to a different valid site address?
Yes, remapping will be required. The behavior differs based on the part type:
- Customer-provided part: Since the part record remains available, but the previous site mapping is removed, users will need to map the part to an appropriate valid site address.
- Supplier-provided part: Since the complete part and site mapping entry is removed, users will need to recreate the part mapping with a valid site address.
- Will the existing mappings remain unchanged?
- No. The existing mappings will not remain unchanged once the site address is marked as Invalid or Valid Not Applicable. The site association will be impacted as described above.
