  • Recovery Time and Alternate Site Bring Up Time are both key indicators of a supplier’s ability to recover from a disruption, but they refer to different aspects of recovery:
  • Recovery Time:
    • Refers to the maximum time (in weeks) it would take for a primary site to resume 100% of its current production volumes after a major disruption.
    • This includes scenarios such as equipment or tooling damage, labor relocation, or raw material replenishment.
    • It is linked to Site Activity—if a Site Activity is mentioned, Recovery Time must also be provided (and vice versa).
    • The acceptable value for Recovery Time is between 1 and 52 weeks.
    • Recovery Time is used to calculate the Recovery Risk Score for the site and serves as an indicator of the site's preparedness for disruptions.
    • This information is visible in the WarRoom and various reports and dashboards on the Resilinc portal.

  • Alternate Site Bring Up Time:
    • Refers to the time (in weeks) it will take to make an alternate site fully operational if operations need to shift from the primary site due to disruption.
    • It is tied to the Alternate Site Number—both fields must be provided together.
    • The alternate site must belong to the same supplier as the primary site and should be capable of performing similar operations.
    • This detail helps in assessing business continuity and is also visible in the WarRoom.
    • A shorter Alternate Site Bring Up Time indicates better readiness and can reduce the perceived risk.
  • In summary, Recovery Time measures how quickly a primary site can recover, while Alternate Site Bring Up Time measures how quickly a backup site can take over operations.
