Update “Impact Status” – Users can take recommended actions based on the information available in the WarRoom. It is advisable for the risk team to develop a process for contacting suppliers and confirming impacts from events. Supplier responses can then be updated in the Resilinc platform for centralized tracking and ease of notifying other users within the organization.
- Whenever a disruption takes place, it is essential to check the ‘Impact’ of the event. Functionality within the WarRoom allows user to “Update the Impact Status.” If the event is potentially impactful, the default status will be “Potential” until a supplier confirms the impact, at which point the status updates to “Confirmed” along with duration on the impact and any user entered comments. Similarly, if the supplier confirms no damages, the status can be updated to “No Impact.”
- Suppliers can also determine the duration of ‘Impact’. For example, if an event causes a disruption with a restoration length of 4 weeks, users can make changes to the portal and once the impact has been negated, the status should be updated to “Restored”.
- Users are advised to assess the severity of every event - Low, Medium, High & Severe. The default severity assigned to each event is based Resilinc’s assessment of the situation and its overall impact to the supply chain, however the actual impact or severity of the event may vary for each customer. Resilinc recommends risk teams assess the impact data and change the severity of the event accordingly.
- In addition, the “Impact details” section gives us information about a Category Manager. For each category, Category Managers are assigned to manage and understand the relationship between a customer and a supplier. Emergency contact details for every supplier are also included.
