- Currently, UDAs can be added only at supplier level and site level.
- UDA values are independent of each other and optional. Hence, every UDA value need not be defined under the columns added and can be left blank.
- This also means that one UDA field can also have multiple sets of information/values.
For example, some suppliers have multiple regions under the ‘Region’ column in the ‘Sites’ tab of the demo above (3M à NA | LATAM) - UDAs can be defined for both customer and supplier provided data.
Points to note:
- Any user with the ‘Load data’ license (i.e., Company Admin) can import/export the UDA file and alter the columns. It’s advisable for customers to identify the super users for the SCRM program & authorize Company Admin access only to the selected super users.
- The common column header or label cannot be added in both ‘Suppliers’ and ‘Sites’ tabs.
For e.g., the example of UDA label ‘Spend type’ explained earlier in this document at the Suppliers tab, cannot be used in the Sites tab. It must be labeled differently to avoid duplication and confusion. Instead, if required, changes such as ‘Supplier Spend type’ and ‘Site Spend type’ can be made to create UDAs in the ‘Suppliers’ and ‘Sites’ tabs respectively. - As pointed out in page 4, any changes made to the UDA’s, will result in deleting previously uploaded data & only the latest changes will be effective on the portal
For e.g., if a UDA for ‘Region’ is deleted from the UDA import file, and/or replaced by new UDA labels called ‘Country’ and ‘Continent’, only the newly added labels or columns will be visible in the portal. The UDA for ‘Region’ will no longer be visible in the portal.
