Why does a closed War Room not automatically reopen when there is a significant news update related to the event?

  • A closed War Room will not automatically reopen if the latest event update only contains additional news information and does not introduce any new impacted regions, supplier sites, or suppliers.

    Current System Behavior

  • As per the current platform functionality:
  • A War Room that has already been closed is automatically moved back to “New” status only when:
    • New impacted regions are identified
    • New supplier sites are added
    • New suppliers are associated with the event in a subsequent update
  • If the latest update only includes:
    • News confirmation
    • Additional media coverage
    • Status progression of an existing event
    • Public announcements related to the same event
  • and there are no changes to impacted entities, the War Room status remains unchanged.
  • Example Scenario
  • An event is initially created based on early news or ongoing negotiations.
  • Users review the event and close the related War Room.
  • Later, a significant update confirms the event outcome or provides additional business context.
  • Since no new impacted regions, sites, or suppliers are added in the update, the War Room does not reopen automatically.
  • Important Note
  • Currently, War Room reopening logic is based only on changes to impacted entities and not on the significance of the news update itself.
