My CDIF status shows "Normalization Failed." What does this mean and what should I do?

  • "Normalization Failed" means that one or more supplier names in your CDIF file could not be matched to an existing supplier in the Resilinc system. This is a normal part of the process and does not mean your file has errors.
  • When you upload a CDIF, Resilinc checks every supplier name you provided against its database of known companies. This process is called "normalization" - it maps your internal supplier names to the standardized supplier names used across the Resilinc platform. If you have added a new supplier that Resilinc has not encountered before, the system cannot automatically map it.
  • What happens when normalization fails:
    • You will receive an email with the subject "Customer Resilinc Mapping Is In Progress" confirming that the mapping team has been notified.
    • A file called "Company_Names.xlsx" is generated listing all supplier names that could not be mapped.
    • The Resilinc mapping team (typically your Customer Success Manager or Partner Relationship Team) will review the unmapped names and create the correct mappings.
    • The estimated completion time for mapping is within two business days.
    • Once mapping is complete, your CDIF will automatically continue processing from where it stopped - you do not need to re-upload.
  • What you should do:
  • No immediate action is required from you. The mapping process is handled by the Resilinc team.
  • If you know the correct official names of the unmapped suppliers, providing that information to your Customer Success Manager or Resilinc Customer Support can speed up the process.
  • Common reasons for normalization failure:
    • A brand-new supplier that has never been mapped for any Resilinc customer.
    • A supplier name with a spelling variation, abbreviation, or subsidiary name that does not match existing records.
    • A recently merged or renamed company that has not been updated in the system.
