Does Resilinc require users to click the recalculate button after updating scores from the backend process?

Yes, it is mandatory to hit the recalculate button when Resilinc updates scores from the backend process.
Failing to do so will result in the scores not being refreshed, and consequently, the updated scores will not be displayed on the portal.
