If a part appears only once in the CDIF, but a customer designates it as multi-sourced, will it retain its multi-source status, or will it default to being single-sourced due to its association with only one supplier?

  • If a part is listed only once in the CDIF and lacks any sourcing information, it will default to being single-sourced, as per the sourcing logic.
  • When a part is listed once in the CDIF, but the customer designates it as multi-source, the CDIF's input takes precedence. As a result, the part will be presented as multi-sourced on the CDIF.
  • In conclusion, if sourcing information is absent in the CDIF, the portal will automatically update it. However, if the CDIF provides sourcing information, it will override the portal's default display.
