What is the impact if I enter part details in Tab 2 (Part Sourcing tab) of the CDIF but not in Tab 3 (BOM)? How would that affect the SCV assessment?

  • Tab 2 (Part Sourcing) in the CDIF is crucial for linking customer part numbers to supplier part numbers and defining the sourcing strategy for each part. This information forms the foundation for supply chain risk assessment and supports visibility into part–supplier relationships.
  • Tab 3 (BOM) serves a different purpose — it is used to establish the connection between products and the parts associated with them. This helps in product-level traceability and mapping but does not directly influence the SCV assessment.
  • Since the product data from Tab 3 does not flow into the SCV assessment, leaving it blank will not impact the SCV assessment results or related dashboards and reports.
