Why does the WarRoom “Created Date” sometimes appear as a different day (for example, 07 Jan vs 08 Jan)?

  • This behaviour is expected and is caused by timezone-based date conversion, not by any change to the WarRoom data.
  • All WarRoom creation timestamps are stored in UTC (Coordinated Universal Time) in the database. When a user views a WarRoom in the portal, the system automatically converts the UTC timestamp to the local timezone of the user’s computer/browser.
  • Because of this conversion, the same WarRoom can appear with different calendar dates depending on the viewer’s timezone.
  • Example:
    1. A WarRoom is created at 05:14 AM UTC on 08 January 2026
    2. Users in timezones ahead of or equal to UTC may see the date as 08 January
    3. Users in timezones behind UTC (for example, Pacific or Mountain Time) may see the same timestamp converted to late evening on 07 January
    4. The underlying creation timestamp never changes—only the displayed date/time varies based on the user’s local timezone.
  • Why this may appear inconsistent:
You may notice different creation dates if:
    1. Your system timezone changed
    2. You accessed the platform from different devices
    3. You travelled to another timezone
    4. Daylight Saving Time adjustments occurred
    5. A VPN affected your apparent location/timezone
  • Expected Behavior:
    1. WarRoom creation times are stored consistently in UTC
    2. Dates are displayed according to each user’s local timezone
    3. Different users may see different dates for the same WarRoom
    4. The actual creation moment remains unchanged.
