How does Resilinc detect events and link them to my supplier network?

This article explains the end-to-end process Resilinc uses to monitor global disruptions and determine which ones are relevant to your supplier network.

• Step 1 - Event Detection and Data Ingestion: Resilinc continuously monitors and collects data from multiple subscribed news and intelligence vendors. This raw data is ingested into the platform and processed through Resilinc's internal pipeline to identify potentially disruptive events.
• Step 2 - Analyst Review and Classification: Once processed, Resilinc's Analyst team reviews the content and evaluates its potential supply chain impact. Based on the severity and relevance of the disruption, the analyst determines whether it should be published as a formal event or as a News Alert item on the Monitoring Portal. Not every piece of news becomes a formal event - only those deemed significant enough to potentially impact supply chains are elevated.
• Step 3 - Geographic Impact Zone and Supplier Matching: For formally published events, the platform defines a geographic impact zone (such as a region, city, or facility location). This impact zone is then cross-referenced against the supplier sites mapped within your organization's network. If a supplier site falls within the affected area and that supplier or site is shared with your organization in the platform, a WarRoom is created linking the event to that supplier.
• Step 4 - News Alert without Supplier Data: If no supplier or site within your mapped network falls within the event's geographic impact zone, the event will still be visible as an EventWatch News Alert. However, it will not contain supplier-specific impact information and no WarRoom will be created.
• Note: Resilinc does not use external standardized coding frameworks such as IPTC NewsCodes in its event-to-supplier association methodology. The matching process is based entirely on geographic impact zone cross-referencing against your mapped supplier network.
