Why is a site geo-pinned incorrectly even when some address fields contain incorrect information?

The system does not validate whether individual address components are semantically correct before performing geo-pinning.
During the geo-pinning process, the system combines all available address fields (such as Street Address, City, State/Province, and Country) into a single address string and sends it to Google's Geocoding API for location identification.
If Google’s Geocoding API is able to interpret the combined address string and return valid coordinates, the site will be geo-pinned successfully. This can occur even if individual address fields contain incorrect, misplaced, or inconsistent values (for example, incorrect City, State, or Country information).
To ensure accurate geo-pinning, we recommend reviewing and correcting the address details in the CDIF file by ensuring that:
- Street Address is accurate and populated correctly.
- City is entered in the appropriate field.
- State/Province is entered correctly.
- Country value is accurate and populated in the correct column.
After updating the CDIF with the corrected address information and reloading the data, the system will process the updated location details and refresh the site's geo-location accordingly.
This updated geo-location will also help ensure that the site is associated with the correct WarRooms based on the impacted region. If the updated coordinates no longer fall within the affected area, the site will no longer be included in the incorrect WarRoom association.
