Can HS (Harmonized System) Codes be uploaded or mapped to parts and products through CDIF?

Yes, you can map HS (Harmonized System) Codes — the universal customs classification standard — directly to your part and product data through the Customer Data Input File (CDIF). Additionally, you can also map this through Dataflow Integration (DFI) and Data Load Automation (DLA).

The HS Code information at part and product level can be provided through below four fields/columns in respective tabs of CDIF:

  • Part HS Code (Part Sourcing)
  • Part Category HS Code (Part Sourcing)
  • Supplier Part HS Code (Part Sourcing)
  • Product HS Code (Products)

These fields are optional and accept your HS codes as provided — there's no rigid digit-count requirement, since HS code conventions vary by region. Each code can be up to 100 characters. If the same part, part category, supplier part, or product has more than one HS code across your source data, the first value provided is used, and you'll see a clear message if that happens, so you always know which value was kept.

  • This data will strictly be used for the Autonomous/ Validated Map only
