- This warning is shown when the Supplier Part and the From Site listed in Tab 9 (Site to Site Mapping) of the CDIF belong to different supply chain hierarchies, as defined in Tab 10 (Multi-Tier Part Sourcing).
- In multi-tier mapping, supplier parts and their associated sites must belong to the same supply path (or hierarchy) to be linked correctly. If the From Site and Supplier Part exist in different hierarchies or tiers, the system will reject the record and issue this warning to prevent incorrect linkage.
- Example Scenario:
Tier 1 Supplier Name | Tier 1 Supplier Part # | Tier 2 Supplier Name | Tier 2 Supplier Part # | Tier 2 Site Number |
Supplier A | PART-001 | Supplier C | PART-003 |
|
Supplier B | PART-001 | Supplier C |
| SITE-002 |
- In this example:
If a user sets From Site = SITE-002 and Supplier Part = PART-003, the system raises a warning. - Even though both entities relate to Supplier C, they originate from different hierarchy paths (one through Supplier A and one through Supplier B).
- Because the Supplier Part and Site do not exist under the same supply chain branch, they cannot be linked directly.
- In this example:
- How to Resolve:
- Ensure that the Supplier Part and the From Site you are linking in Tab 9 are part of the same hierarchy in Tab 10.
- Cross-check your multi-tier data to make sure the paths align properly.
