Why do certain sites with source as Customer appear as Tier 1, even when not explicitly listed as Tier 1 by the customer?

  • There are two main reasons why certain sites may be automatically categorized as Tier 1 in the Resilinc platform, even if they were not explicitly designated as such by the customer:
    • Resilinc Normalized Supplier Names:
If a supplier’s normalized name is already listed in the Suppliers tab under Tier 1, any sites associated with that supplier will automatically be assigned to Tier Level 1. This ensures that suppliers with a recognized Tier 1 status across the platform are consistently categorized, and their corresponding sites are automatically grouped accordingly.
    • Matching Raw Supplier Names:
If a site’s raw (non-normalized) supplier name exactly matches with a normalized supplier name in either the Site List tab or Part Sourcing data, the system will automatically assign it to Tier 1. This is based on the exact match of the raw name with a Resilinc normalized name, regardless of whether the customer specifically requested it.
  • This automatic categorization ensures consistency in the platform but may sometimes result in sites being assigned to Tier 1 due to these predefined mappings.
